Job summary

FLSmidth in Winfield, West Virginia is seeking a Welder to join our manufacturing team. This role involves welding steel components per layouts and drawings, setting up work with fixtures, and using various tools and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years' experience and welding certifications; familiarity with welding symbols, blueprints, and time-tracking software is a plus. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience preferred.
• Welding certification(s) preferred.
• Understanding of metallurgy, tolerances and math.
• Familiar with welding symbols and blueprints.
• Know welding equipment: torches, tips, rods, flux, hoses.
• Able to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Computer skills for time tracking.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel components with layouts, drawings, work orders or verbal instructions.
• Set up and lay out work using fixtures and positioning devices.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, hand tools, slings, grinders, torches and related tools.
• Use in-process measuring, including weld gauges.
• Inspect and correct welds to meet specifications.
• Read and follow job orders, drawings and weld symbols.
• Cross-train and perform other tasks as needed.
• Maintain equipment with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Document actions in production and quality logs.
• May perform flame cutting or arc welding as required.
