Job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Job Description

The Welder works as part of a crew to weld gas pipe.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Loads, unloads, and transports construction materials and tools.
2. Signals operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
3. Prepares pipe alignment on the worksite.
4. Assembles and welds gas piping of various sizes.
5. Communicates and assists as needed through the site foreman.
6. Follows safety standards throughout the process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, and coating joints.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Required Knowledge/Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass Wisconsin Utility Association (WUA) weld test.
• Must have tapping experience with Mueller fittings.
• Experience welding gas mains preferred.
• Education in Gas & Utilities Construction preferred.
• Possesses a valid Driver's License in good standing; Class A CDL preferred.
• Travel within Wisconsin required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs. regularly.
