Job summary

Contech in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Welder to join our plant. You will read blueprints, set up welds, and perform MIG and Stick welding to build infrastructure components.

You will align parts, use layout tools, and operate cutting or plasma torches, while following safety protocols and quality standards to support drainage systems, pipes, bridges and stormwater projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding.
• Reading blueprints and interpreting welding procedures.
• Ability to work with precision instruments and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
• Uses templates, patterns, or layout tools to mark and lay out material.
• Aligns and assembles product for welding using crane, lever hoist, chains, etc.
• Uses cutting or plasma torch to cut to precise layout.
• Adheres to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
