eTEC Mechanical Corporation is hiring a Pipe Fitter/Welder to layout, fabricate, install, maintain, and repair piping systems, structural steel, pumps and equipment in commercial/industrial settings.

We seek candidates with 5+ years of welding experience, ability to read blueprints, perform fit-up, and safely operate welding tools. Physical work includes lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing. A GED or high school diploma is required, with welding certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of practical welding experience required.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and construction environment.
• Ability to use tools and equipment with care.
• Certification at one or more levels required.
• Physically able to stand, climb, lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems, structural steel, pumps and equipment.
• Plan layout and welding procedures for components.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit parts together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to fix in position.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions.

Pipe Fitter/Welder

Job Summary:

Layout, fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems, structural steel, pumps and equipment in the commercial and industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and weld techniques.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• At least 5+ years of practical welding is required.
• Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade and general construction environment.
• Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used.
• Certification at one or more levels is required.
• Physical activities include standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. are required.
