Founded and family‐owned since 1896, Rhoads Industries is a total solution provider of industrial fabrication, mechanical/maintenance and maritime services. We are seeking qualified welders to join our team in Philadelphia, PA.

Position Summary: Prep, layout, tack, weld, finish, and repair complex fabrications according to work packages and specifications under the supervision of the shop superintendent.

Responsibilities include:

• Reading and understanding work packages, drawings, and blueprints.
• Performing welding using GMAW and FCAW processes in various positions.
• Using measuring tools to layout and secure parts.
• Operating hand and power tools, and supporting fabrication activities.
• Inspecting own work and equipment, and supporting other fabrication tasks.
• Working at various job sites, including the Navy Yard and other locations, possibly requiring overtime or weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 900 hours of post-secondary welding training.
• Ability to demonstrate required welding positions per code (Pipe or Structural).
• Experience with FCAW, GMAW (including Pulse and Spray), GTAW (Pipe 6G).

Testing: AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX certifications required, including NDT such as VT, X-ray, and bend tests.

Physical Demands: Exposure to industrial environments requiring PPE such as safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection.
