Job Description

This position is for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.). The training will be on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.) for approximately three months.

As a Welding Machine Operator, you will operate a computer-controlled welding machine to produce welded wire mesh, ensuring compliance with production schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities include performing set-ups, changeovers, routine maintenance, and monitoring the equipment. The actual welding is performed by the machine, not manually.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with 2-5 years of experience as a machine operator or strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Maintain high efficiency and quality standards
  • Good mechanical aptitude
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work from specifications, job orders, and verbal instructions
  • Ensure wires are properly positioned for feeding into the welder
  • Perform visual inspections for proper positioning, welding, and cutting
  • Maintain and adjust welding electrodes and machine as needed
  • Perform quality checks and record results
  • Report processing or operating issues to the supervisor
  • Remove welded mesh rolls from rollers and palletize finished products
  • Monitor wire feed and perform preventative maintenance
  • Assist other machine operators as needed
