Welder Operator Trainee 2nd shift (train on 1st shift)

Join to apply for the Welder Operator Trainee 2nd shift (train on 1st shift) role at Riverdale Mills Corp.

This position is for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.). The training will be on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.) for approximately three months.

As a Welding Machine Operator, you will perform standard operations to operate a computer-controlled welding machine to produce welded wire mesh, meeting production schedules and quality standards. You will handle set-ups, changeovers, and assist with routine maintenance. Note that the machine performs the welding, not the operator.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience as a machine operator or strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain efficiency and quality standards
• Good mechanical skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work from specifications, job orders, and instructions
• Ensure wires are properly positioned for feeding into the welder
• Visually inspect products and processes for correctness
• Maintain and adjust welding electrodes and machinery as needed
• Perform quality checks and record results
• Report processing or operational issues
• Remove welded mesh rolls from rollers and palletize finished products
• Monitor wire field and perform preventative maintenance
• Assist other operators as needed
