Job Title: Welder New Hire - ARTCO - Creve Coeur, IL

American River Transportation Company, LLC (ARTCO) is hiring for a full-time, hourly welder position at $27.19/hour. The role is on the first shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Job Duties:

• Repair inland river barges and boats by welding damaged steel to make watertight, cutting and removing damaged sections, fitting new material, and welding in watertight.
• Perform various welding and cutting projects, along with general labor and housekeeping duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Ability to use an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch to cut mild steel plates.
• Welding certification is not required but a satisfactory welding test, as determined by the Drydock Manager, is necessary.
• Mandatory overtime may be required.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to company safety procedures.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Physical ability to meet job requirements, including prolonged standing, working in confined spaces and at heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in various conditions, and lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and flexibility to work in a team when needed.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful attitude at all times.

Additional notes: Applicants with documented under-performance may be ineligible to apply until performance improves, subject to supervisor approval. A background check is required for employment. The pay rate is $27.19/hour, with potential variations based on individual factors.
