Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations primarily using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) techniques to assemble and fabricate metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality metal structures, ensuring safety, durability, and adherence to industry standards. Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Perform MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding - GMAW) on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
  • Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up of fabricated parts.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding and assembly.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling welding equipment, gas cylinders, and fabrication tools on construction sites or in shop environments.
  • Fabricate components through cutting, assembly, and welding processes while maintaining quality control standards.
  • Interpret technical drawings accurately and apply mechanical knowledge for effective fabrication and assembly of complex structures.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working on construction sites with a strong understanding of construction processes and safety procedures.
  • Skilled in MIG welding (GMAW), with additional experience in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and TIG welding preferred.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and interpreting technical drawings related to metal fabrication projects.
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other shop math tools necessary for precise fabrication work.
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, mechanical fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of construction site safety protocols along with the ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely.
  • Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including steel, aluminum, and other alloys used in construction projects.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Flux Core.
  • Bilingual a plus.
