The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking a skilled welder for the Section 51 Bridge Maintenance and Facilities team in Louisiana. You will fabricate, install, and repair steel bridge components and supervise junior welders and apprentices as needed.
The role requires 3 years of welding experience or a completed AAS/Technical Welding program plus one year of on-the-job training. Appointment is probational or promotional with competitive pay and benefits.

This position is part of the structural welding crew that fabricates, installs, and repairs steel bridge components, and the other crew replaces deficient bridges which cannot be let to contract in a short time frame and are beyond the Districts ability to install.
While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Services laws, rules and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.

This position is a WS-213 which ranges from $21.05 up to $37.88 per hour and also eligible for premium pay of $2.00 extra per hour.
