Job summary

Rinker Materials in Whitestown, IN is seeking a Welder to join our production team. You will fabricate and weld cages, reading blueprints to ensure accuracy and quality. Duties include material handling, various welding techniques, and maintaining weld equipment.

Ideal candidates read complex instructions, operate hand and power tools, and are comfortable working outdoors. Forklift experience is preferred; lifting up to 50 lb regularly and climbing stairs may be required.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand work orders and complex instructions.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to work outdoors or in open air.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently; heavier work may require forklift/crane.
• Must be able to push or pull a cart with 80 pounds of force.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders; step up 20 inches.

Responsibilities

• Welding and Fabrication: Operate welding equipment to assemble and weld cages to spec.
• Reading Blueprints: Interpret drawings to assemble cages per design.
• Material Handling: Prepare materials for welding, cutting and positioning components.
• Welding Techniques: Apply MIG, TIG, or stick welding to join components.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished cages for quality and safety compliance.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols to prevent injuries.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks on welding equipment.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with team to meet production goals and timelines.
• Record Keeping: Document completed work and quality control details.
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

About the Role:

• Welding and Fabrication: Operate welding equipment to assemble and weld cages, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints to accurately assemble cages according to design specifications.
• Material Handling: Select and prepare materials for welding, including cutting, fitting, and positioning components
• Welding Techniques: Utilize various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding, to join metal components securely.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards, making any necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and perform routine checks on welding equipment to ensure it functions properly.
• Collaboration: Work in coordination with other team members to achieve production goals and timelines.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records of completed work and any necessary documentation for quality control and production tracking.
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
• Any other miscellaneous tasks assigned by management at any given time and in any given area

About You

We Require:

• Great work ethic and impeccable attendance.

• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to work outdoors or in open air environment.
• Preferred – Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred – Experience operating a forklift, especially an industrial forklift.
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently. Over 50 pounds, a forklift or crane will be used. Must be able to push or pull cart with 80 pounds of force. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Must be able to step up 20 inches.
