Job summary

nVent in Oregon, WI seeks a welding position to assist with handling, positioning, and tacking metal components for modular buildings and enclosures, on the shop floor or outdoors.

You will select electrodes, start the power, strike an arc, guide welds, and inspect bead quality while learning horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. A 1-year certificate or 6 months of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specified electrodes and insert into holder.
• Connect cables to welding unit to set amperage/voltage/pulse per manual.
• Start power supply to produce current.
• Strike arc to deposit metal and join edges.
