Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Welder in Lexington, TN to join a skilled manufacturing team. You will follow work instructions and engineering drawings to assemble a variety of products, ensuring quality and meeting production standards.

You will drive process improvements and maintain safety as a top priority every day. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment, with ability to use needed tools and strong teamwork and communication

Responsibilities

  • Position, align, and fit components together.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, or submerged arc welding.
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Job description

You will work with a broad range of talented individuals to deliver quality products in a timely manner. You’ll work alongside Assemblers and partner with professionals across multiple departments.

How will you make a difference?

As a Welder, you will follow specified work instructions and/or engineering parts drawings to assemble a wide variety of products. You will be responsible for the quality of your work, and meeting production standards. You will continually look for ways to improve our production processes and make Safety your #1 priority every day.

What do we want to know about you?
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the assembly operations in an industrial setting.
  • Must have good listening and communication skills.
  • Able to work well with others to be a good team player.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following.

Positions, aligns, and fits components together.

Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.

Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or submerged arc welding equipment.

Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.

Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

The starting hourly rate of this position is $28.00 - $32.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
