Job Title: Welder Level 1

Department Name: Aluminum / Chain Link

Reports to (title): Gate Shop Team Lead / Chain Link Supervisor

Job Summary: Operates specialized welding and fabrication equipment to weld or fabricate either new or used (repair/modify) panel frames, panel stands, gates and related products. Chain Link and Aluminum. parts and assemblies and make new or modify existing gates.

Essential Job Functions:

Aluminum:

• Receive works orders from Team leader.
• Determine and cut materials and sizes needed for work orders
• Checks weld quality (Strength and cosmetic)
• Use precision measuring tools to inspect sizes and angles
• Basic maintenance on the Weld and Saw Machines
• Keep the shop clean and organized
• Participates in-taking warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines
• Manage multiple priorities
• Lay out and Weld Stock Gates

Chain Link:

• Cut / Notch pipes
• Grind material correctly
• Read tape measurements
• Performing all duties safely and as directed
• Other duties as needed.

Requirements

Required Skills & Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Thorough knowledge of pipe sizes and gauges.
• Forklift experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of machinery/safety requirements
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Physical Demands (standing, sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, climbing)
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.

Physical Requirements & work environment:

• Working in a warehouse
