Job description

Welder - Lead - 1st Shift (7am-3:30pm) - $25.00/hour

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a Lead Welder for the 1st shift based in Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, this role involves welding aluminum cable trays and providing guidance to other welders. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of welding experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based companies is preferred.

What you'll do:

  1. Guide and supervise other welders in the department.
  2. Set up, adjust, and operate welding machines.
  3. Use basic fabricating tools such as tape measures.
  4. Interpret drawings and blueprints to fabricate products.
  5. Ensure fabrication meets customer specifications.
  6. Participate actively in Atkore's safety programs.
  7. Cross-train in different shop areas as needed.
  8. Follow safety protocols and use PPE at all times.

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum 3 years of welding experience.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Availability to work 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.
  • Technical School Welding Certificate (preferred).
  • Physical ability to squat, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Compensation and benefits:

The starting pay is estimated at $25.00/hour, with potential variations based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k), paid time off and holidays, and other incentives.
