Job Purpose
The Welder/Mechanic is responsible for following all quality procedures and regulations while welding on shear heads and other various items. Perform basic mechanic duties. Position will also operate heavy mobile equipment and work on heavy equipment as needed.

Key Job Elements
• Weld to build shear heads back to required specs;
• Basic maintenance mechanic skill set;

Education / Training
• High School diploma or GED. Welding education or certifications preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
• Prior welding experience and/or certification required;
• Must be able to pass welding test;
• Knowledge to perform basic repairs to various equipment onsite;
• Must be able to stand in one place for an extended period of time;
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively. Frequent twisting and bending;
• Work is performed inside/outside and applicant must be able to withstand all weather conditions;
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Ability to use measuring devices accurately.
• Strength – Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance;
• Motion – Employee will sit for the majority of the shift, may kneel, squat and climb steps as needed throughout the day;
• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Must be able to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness. The ability to see details at close range or at a distance;
• Work Environment- Work in all weather conditions;
• Emotional Demands – Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations;
• Safety – Position is a safety sensitive position. Position requires following all safety procedures, policies and PPE requirements such that include hand, head, eye, hand, ear and foot protection.
