Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation in Oklahoma is seeking an experienced MIG welder for nights shift to fabricate and assemble structural components with precision and adherence to engineering specifications.

You will read blueprints, perform quality checks, support training of Level 1 welders, and ensure compliance with AWS and ASME standards while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years MIG welding in structural/heavy fabrication.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • AWS certification a plus; knowledge of ASME standards.
  • Familiar with gauges, measuring tools and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex welding operations on structural steel components.
  • Interpret blueprints and welding symbols with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct quality checks using gauges and basic NDT techniques.
  • Assist in training Level 1 welders and provide guidance.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with AWS, ASME and industry standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is critical in fabricating and assembling structural components using MIG welding techniques, ensuring precision, durability, and compliance with engineering specifications.

  • Nights Only
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Perform complex welding operations on structural steel and heavy components
  • Interpret detailed blueprints and welding symbols with minimal supervision
  • Perform quality checks using gauges, measuring tools, and NDT basics
  • Assist in training Level 1 welders and provide technical guidance
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards (AWS, ASME, etc.)
  • All other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Familiarity with structural welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1 or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and workplace safety practices.
  • AWS certification is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or welding certification preferred.
  • 2-4 years of MIG welding experience, preferably in a structural or heavy fabrication setting.
