Job summary

The Welder II position at The D.S. Brown Company, a Gibraltar Industries Company, is based in North Baltimore, Ohio. This role produces weldments per blueprints and procedures, operates MIG/FCAW welding on the production floor, and follows safety and quality standards.

The schedule runs Sunday through Wednesday, 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a $1.50 shift premium on 2nd and 3rd shifts. We offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus with installments, and opportunities to train others while supporting continuous

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: 5+ Area: Production Welding
• Years of Experience: 2+ Area: Fitting/building and fabrication

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG/FCAW and other assigned welding processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions
• Set up welding equipment, select proper settings, wire, gas, and consumables
• Complete tack-up, fit-up, welding, grinding, and finishing operations
• Inspect welds for quality, size, appearance, and defects
• Identify and correct common welding problems
• Use measuring tools and basic inspection equipment
• Meet established production, quality, and labor-hour expectations
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other equipment when trained and authorized
• Follow all safety, PPE, hot-work, 6S, and material-handling requirements
• Complete required production and quality documentation
• Assist in training less-experienced welders when requested
• Report safety, quality, material, and equipment issues to supervision
• Support continuous improvement and other duties as assigned
