Job description

Job Title: Welder B

Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is seeking a Welder B based at our Caruthersville, Missouri plant. As a Welder at Arcosa Marine, you will apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will utilize manual, auto welding, and semi-automatic welding equipment.

Company Overview

Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group includes Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges for cargo transportation on U.S. inland waterways. We produce dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, used for transporting products like grain, coal, and aggregates. We also manufacture tank barges for petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquids. We are the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers, primarily used on grain barges. Additionally, we provide a full line of deck hardware, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Perform flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds proficiently
  • Inspect your welds to ensure all quality requirements are met
  • Adhere to all safety rules and practices
  • Participate in safety committees or initiatives as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-year FCAW (flux-core arc welding) experience
  • Ability to pass vertical and overhead fillet weld tests using FCAW-G
  • Understanding of weld size requirements and quality acceptance criteria
  • Ability to perform welding while wearing all required personal protective equipment, including filtering face pieces and/or respirators
  • Comfortable working at heights (above 15 ft), climbing ladders or stairs
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and perform prolonged kneeling, bending, walking, or standing
  • Metatarsal steel toe boots are required at hire
