Job summary

Rite-Hite is seeking a Welder I to lay out fabrications, tack weld, and weld components to customer specifications. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe work environment and collaborating with supervisors to suggest improvements.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using GMAW equipment, plasma/oxyfuel cutting, and operating forklifts or hoists. Six months to one year of related experience is preferred, with opportunities to grow within a global leader in loading dock equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate JD Edwards software to perform daily production tasks.
• Utilize blueprints to fit and weld metal components.
• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Set up and adjust GMAW equipment for quality welds.
• Use plasma and oxyfuel cutting torches.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
• Support quality system and procedures for continuous improvement.
