This position is located in our brand-new Portland, CT facility

Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable!

Our welders are an integral part of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:

  1. Producing welded assemblies from fabricated components per custom or stock specifications
  2. Welding in a variety of metals using a combination of MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques
  3. Positioning and aligning fits and welds using common weld shop tooling (jigs, welding equipment, and hand tools)
  4. Resolving problems using established procedures and common sense
  5. Creating solutions, procedures, and policies while working with various departments
  6. Understanding of assigned work order/stag requirement and goals

If you have at least 1 year of experience as a welder, possess a High School Diploma or GED, and have successfully completed certification to a minimum of 2 WPS, we want to talk to you!
