Job summary

Big Top Manufacturing, Perry, Florida, is seeking a welder to operate at a fixed welding station in a production environment. You will read sketches, weld to specification, and ensure parts meet quality and production goals. Reliability and punctuality are essential, with possible overtime to meet production needs.

The role reports to the Weld Shop Supervisor and requires safe work practices and coordination with training of new staff. High school diploma and welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years welding experience or graduation from a certified welding program preferred.
• Must successfully complete Big Top welding test.
• Ability to follow company safety procedures and processes.
• Occasional travel may be required. Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Read sketches and build products accordingly. Check pieces in process against sketches.
• Ensure all parts are produced on time and are of good quality.
• Apply the correct type and quality of weld as directed.
• Minimize material waste.
• Maintain equipment in use and perform preventive maintenance.
• Follow safety guidelines and report violations or accidents.
• Assist in training new personnel on safety, production, and quality standards.
• Follow supervisor instructions.
• Maintain housekeeping in your area and the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
