Description

Scott Engineering is seeking a skilled welder to operate arc and heliarc equipment under close supervision. The role involves welding metal cabinets, frames, and small parts, following all safety procedures, and assisting other departments as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Check welding equipment for proper operation.
  • Set up jobs for welding.
  • Position clamps and prepare welding wire for feeding.
  • Level frames and determine proper welding spots, types, and sizes based on stress requirements.
  • Use wrenches, ratchets, grinders, and hand tools as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Consistently meet quality and production standards.
  • Assist with sheet metal fabrication, grinding, and assembly work as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of various welding methods.
  • Accurate measurement and calculation skills for proper fitment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to keep pace with production needs.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Respectful and ethical behavior.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Lift, carry, and move heavy materials (>25 lbs).
  • Wear proper PPE consistently.
  • Climb stairs and ladders as needed.
  • Work in heat/cold environments.
