Job summary

Race Rock in Crowley, Texas is seeking a reliable welder to perform preparation, welding, and finishing to meet customer drawings and specifications. You will work with flux core wire, interpret weld symbols, and ensure parts fit and align correctly.

This position requires following work instructions, reading drawings, maintaining equipment, and upholding safety and housekeeping standards. A welding test (1G) and six months of flux core experience are required; weekend availability may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up weld parameters (amps, volts) and fixturing.
• Use conventional measuring instruments for quality checks.
• Perform process inspection, certification, and documentation.
• Maintain simple welding equipment.
• Finish grinding using manual and power tools.
• Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

HOURLY RATE: Starting at $22/per hour (Based on Experience)

SUMMARY:

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

3. 3. Interpretation of drawings, including weld symbols and interpret WPS’s.
4. 4. Weld Components in flat, horizontal position.
5. 5. Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys.
6. 6. Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
7. 7. Conventional measuring instruments.
8. 8. Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
9. 9. Simple welding equipment maintenance.
10. 10. Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
11. 11. Safety and Housekeeping.
12. 12. Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Successful completion of an internal welding test which includes 1G.
• Six months or more of current flux core welding experience

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and includes the use of protective equipment.
