Job summary

Kentucky Trailer in Michigan is seeking an experienced welder to join our manufacturing team. Under limited supervision, you will weld and join materials, assemble products using blueprints, and apply knowledge of metallic properties, performing Mig and Tig welding as required.

You must have at least 3 years Mig, Stick and Arc welding experience, be able to read blueprints, lift up to 50 lbs, pass a weld test and background screening.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years Mig, Stick and Arc welding experience.
  • Tig/Heliarc (Aluminum) experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings to form pieces/assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and wear required PPE and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain area housekeeping and organize workspace daily.
  • Accurately complete Job Slips and follow start/stop/break times.
  • Adhere to company policies as outlined in the Handbook.

Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, will be welding and joining materials together in a Manufacturing Environment. Will assemble products, utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic materials, and layout techniques, using hand tools, machines, and equipment using blueprints and shop drawings. Will perform any other duties as assigned. Must have experience with Mig and Tig for galvanized, aluminum and steel.

Responsibilities:
  • The Associate will work in a safe manner while wearing the appropriate safety equipment and reporting any unsafe condition or act.
  • The Associate will be responsible for their area of the Shop for housekeeping and organization and will utilize clean up time assigned at the end of each day to do so.
  • The Associate will be on the job as scheduled for start, stop and break times and accurately fill out the proper information on a Job Slip at the end of each day.
  • The Associate will conduct themselves according to the Policies of the Company as provided in the Handbook including attendance, smoking, breaks, clean up, vacation, PTO, cell phones, etc.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years Mig,Stickand Arc welding experience
  • Tig/Heliarc (Aluminum) Experience preferred.
  • Fabrication/LayoutExperience.
  • Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings to form pieces/assembly
  • Use of allpresses, handand power tools and read a tape measure
  • Basic Math & Measurement aptitude
  • Problem solving skills
  • Able to up to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Criminal Background Check & Drug screen

  • Able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity
  • Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, climb, twistand/or crawl
  • Not afraid of heights
  • Able to pass a weld test
  • Good communication skills (read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions).
  • PPE: Steel-toes, hearing protection andsafety glasses required at all times
