Job summary

Atlantic Track & Turnout Co. in Memphis, TN is seeking a Welder I to join our day shift team. The role focuses on MIG and Stick welding, interpreting blueprints and work instructions, and assembling rail components with precision on a variety of heavy structures.

You will operate cranes and forklifts, maintain safety and quality standards, and collaborate with peers to meet production goals. A high school diploma and welding experience, plus AWS certification, are preferred; training and

  • 1+ year of industrial welding experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate safety awareness and PPE use.
  • Must complete forklift training and AWS Weld Certification.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets work instructions and blueprints.
  • Operates cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to move material.
  • Performs MIG and Stick welding on 3/8 beads with flux core.
  • Assembles material, inspects fit, and aids other team members.

For over 60 years, Atlantic Track has put our people first to foster strong teams, products, and services that are second to none.We’re currently seeking a Welder I to join our growing team of professionals in Memphis, Tennessee.This position will support our Day shift, which operates Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.Roles and Responsibilities:Reads and interprets work instructions, blueprints, and reference documentsCritically examines how various mechanical and/or structural parts fit togetherOperates cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to assist with moving materialAssembles material as needed, grinding rail fits on castings, driving spikes with an impact ridge, hammering clips with a sledgehammer, using an arc gougerMay be required to pull parts and/or material from stockPerforms primarily MIG and Stick welding, usually 3/8 weld bead using flux core wireAssists other employees, works collaboratively to accomplish goalsAlerts/advises supervisors or engineers when issues ariseMaintains a safety and quality focused mindsetMakes suggestions and improves processes or quality of assembly projects at handMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.)Minimum of 1 year of industrial welding experienceSafety Awareness – the ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), ensure tools are in good working order, and take action if coworkers in work area are at risk or causing riskMust be able to complete internal forklift training and certificationMust be able to complete AWS (American Welding Society) Weld CertificationAbility to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to work on-site in Memphis, TennesseePreferred Qualifications:Experience in heavy structural assembly workWillingness to adapt and learnA self-starter who takes initiativeAtlantic Track offers a holistic benefits package, including competitive pay, 401k plan with company matching funds, health / dental / vision insurance options, life insurance, paid time off, an employee shared ownership plan, and more.
