Job summary

UCT in Austin, TX is seeking a Welder I to join our team in the fast-growing semiconductor sector. The Orbital Welder I will fabricate ultra-clean orbital weld assemblies in a Class 100 cleanroom, following strict quality standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include cleaning, labeling, assembling gas lines, maintaining inventory, and performing routine equipment maintenance. Prior orbital welding experience is a plus; high school diploma or AA technical degree is required.

The Orbital Welder I is responsible for manufacturing ultra-clean orbital weld assemblies in a Class 100 cleanroom environment. This role ensures compliance with strict quality standards by performing cleaning, labeling, and assembly tasks, maintaining inventory, and conducting routine equipment maintenance. The position requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and a strong focus on quality and teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans, labels, and etches gas lines according to quality standards and written instructions.
• Bags gas lines and assemblies.
• Maintains parts and inventory; performs audits on parts as required.
• Performs daily, routine and preventative maintenance on cleanroom equipment.
• Follows all safety rules and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Related experience preferred, cable and harness assembly experience a plus.
• Basic mechanical skills and a willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of common hand tools and power tools; ability to identify common hardware and build to simple instructions.
• Mechanically inclined with a fair level of dexterity to construct simple assemblies or parts.
• Ability to read and interpret written information.
• Strong communication skill and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focused.
• Basic computer skill.
• Previous Orbital Welding experience is a plus.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent.
