Job summary

Centuri Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Welder Helper in Utah to support Journeyman Welders by organizing tools, performing physical labor, and assisting with grinding and preparation of pipe ends. This entry-level role offers growth in the pipeline welding trade and a focus on safety and efficiency in the field.

You will learn to use grinders, torches, and beveling equipment, while maintaining required operator qualifications and a strong commitment to safe practices on outdoor job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of underground utility and/or natural gas industry.

Responsibilities

• Support Welders by locating, cleaning, and organizing welding tools and supplies.
• Complete physical labor tasks to help Welders complete their projects.
• Use grinders to clean pipe ends to be welded and to clean welds throughout the welding process.
• Use hand torches and pipe beveling equipment to cut material to be fabricated.
• Assist the crew by performing physical construction labor.
• Maintain all industry required Operator Qualifications.
• Other tasks as requested by leadership.

Work Environment

• Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff
