Job summary

Express Employment is seeking an Experienced Hard Wire & Dual Shield Welder for a local company in Longview, WA. The pay rate is $23.00-25.00 per hour DOE with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

The role involves hardfacing and FCAW welding on structural steel and heavy equipment, reading blueprints and weld symbols, and setting up and operating SMAW, MIG, and FCAW equipment. You will weld in multiple positions and ensure weld quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience with hardfacing and FCAW welding on structural steel.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, shipments and drawings.
• Proficient in setting up welding equipment and adjusting parameters.
• Capable of welding in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
• Committed to safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardfacing and FCAW welding on structural steel and heavy equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work orders and drawings.
• Set up and operate SMAW, MIG, and FCAW welding equipment.
• Adjust voltage, wire feed, and gas flow for proper operation.
• Weld in multiple positions including flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead.
• Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components.
• Inspect welds for defects and perform repairs as needed.
• Finish welds using grinders to meet specs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Job Duties:

• Performed hardfacing and FCAW (dual shield) welding on structural steel and heavy equipment to repair, reinforce, and extend component life
• Read and interpreted blueprints, weld symbols, work orders, and technical drawings
• Set up and operated welding equipment including SMAW, MIG, and FCAW processes
• Adjusted welding machine settings such as voltage, wire feed, and gas flow for proper operation
• Welded in multiple positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead
• Prepared materials by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components prior to welding
• Ensured weld quality by inspecting for defects and performing necessary repairs
• Finished welds using grinders and other hand tools to meet specifications
• Followed all safety procedures and maintained a clean, organized work area
