Responsibilities

  • Measure, mark, and verify materials using a tape measure and other precision measuring tools.
  • Fabricate and assemble components using sheet metal and galvanized steel.
  • Install and work with insulation materials as part of the enclosure assembly process.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet production schedules.

Welder – Generator & Enclosure Welder

Location: Canton, Ohio

Position Summary

Technibus is seeking experienced and motivated Generator Welders and Enclosure Welders to join our growing manufacturing team in Canton, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling generator enclosures and structural components used in power generation systems for mission-critical data centers.

The ideal candidate has experience with structural welding, blueprint reading, fitting and welding, and working with a variety of materials including sheet metal and galvanized steel. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding on structural steel, generator frames, and enclosure components.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a MIG Welder, Structural Welder, Fitter/Welder, or similar manufacturing role.
  • Strong structural welding experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Fitter/welder experience with the ability to accurately assemble components prior to welding.
  • Proficient in MIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.
  • Experience working with sheet metal and galvanized steel.
  • Experience installing or working around insulation materials.
  • Proficiency using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building generator enclosures or power generation equipment.
  • Manufacturing or heavy fabrication experience.
  • Experience working in a custom fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60-80 pounds; heavier lifting may require team assistance or material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
