Job summary

TriMas Corporation is seeking a Welder/Fitter for the 2nd shift at our El Cajon, California location. The candidate will perform welding operations using GTAW and GMAW methods, read blueprints, and assist experienced welders.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform basic welding operations using GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) methods for assembling parts and fit welding assemblies.
• Read basic blueprints and assist Journeyman Welder in fitting and welding assemblies.
• Use fixtures to assemble parts and apply welds using TIG & MIG method.
• Operate hand grinders and perform other duties as assigned or directed.
• Must have own welding hood.
• Other duties as needed.

On‑Site: This role is required to be on‑site 4 days at the El Cajon, CA location.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a welder, or a certificate from welding trade school or ROP type program.
• 2+ years of experience as a welder.
• Experience in assisting fabrication of parts to engineering drawings.
• Fabricate parts with supervision.
• Be willing to work at assigned jobs in or outside the welding field.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $25-$30.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance‑related bonuses.
