Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe have a client located in the Pittsburgh area looking for a Welder/Fitter.

Duties for this position include:

- 35% LAYOUT AND FIT structural steel and miscellaneous metals including steel stairs and railing. Metals include a variety of steels and aluminum. This work calls for cutting with oxygen and natural gas/acetylene. Welding methods frequently employed include MIG and TIG.
- 60% STEEL FABRICATION to include loading and unloading trucks, operation of machinery to cut, punch, bend, thread, and grind metals, and wire brushing and painting of steel.
- 5% PLANT MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR to include lubrication, maintenance, and minor repair of shop equipment, maintenance of the grounds outside the building, and maintenance and repair of the building (i.e. repairing windows, painting, roof repairs, light replacement).
- Infrequently, the work includes erection at job sites away from the plant.

All candidates for this position must have:

- Ability to work well with others as well as by himself.
- Ability to accurately layout and read drawings.
- Weld effectively using shop equipment
- Ability to work in a plant with an open bay structure. The plant is not air-conditioned in the summer and is not well heated in the winter.
- Employees will be asked to work overtime on specific days or expanded hours for a specific period of time.
