Description: Metalworks is looking for a motivated, production-minded individual with a passion for quality to join the welding department. As a Welder you will be responsible for creating a quality product while meeting production goals.

First Shift: 6A-4:30P Monday-Thursday and mandatory OT when applicable

The following duties will be required but not limited to:

  • Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to verify quality production
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare/finish the welded parts
  • Align components using fixtures, calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal)
  • Set up/operate Robotic Welding cells.
  • Provide continuous improvement feedback to help increase productivity

Required Skills:

  • Experience using MIG equipment
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and production efficiency

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Solid work history with past employers with minimum 2 years of experience overall
  • AWS D1.1 certification or pass AWS D1.1 certification within 30 days of hire
  • MUST PASS visual inspection of weld test and written test during interview process
  • Proficient in English
