Chant Engineering, based in the Doylestown, PA area, is a leading, diversified engineering company that designs, manufactures and services custom testing machines and aircraft hydraulic test stands for industrial and military customers worldwide. We manufacture standard machines as well as a lot of unique custom engineered testing equipment.

We are currently seeking a full-time Mig Welder/Fabricator. In this role, the MIG Welder/Fabricator must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience. The MIG Welder/Fabricator will be responsible for welding and fabrication for our customized machinery. The qualified MIG Welder/Fabricator must have a current and valid driver’s license and be able to pass a drug and background test.

Responsibilities:

1. Fabrication of machines and equipment.
2. Operate machines and tools such as grinders, band saws, plasma cutters, mag drills, handheld drills, levels, squares, welders, etc.
3. Repair/retrofit used equipment per engineering specifications.
4. Perform various work from blueprints and drawings.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Fabrication experience is a must.
3. Ability to read and work from blueprints and drawings.
4. Knowledge of set-up and usage of MIG and TIG welders.
5. Knowledge of measuring device usage.
6. Knowledge of hand tools.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
9. Ability to operate lift equipment.
10. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.

Beneficial/preferred:

1. Welding certification preferred, but not required.
2. Minimum 3-5 years of machine fabrication experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
3. Experience working with sheet metal.
