Roles and Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality fabricated and specialty products of various corrugated metal thicknesses and structural and plate steel.
- Perform detailed quality assurance checks—pre and post-production—including painting, weld spatter, cracks, burn through, and ensuring that cuttings & filings are properly cleaned out.
- Become a safe and skilled operator of forklift trucks.
- Have a firm knowledge of all SEC metal pipe specifications (corrugations, gauges, coatings).
- Read and interpret shop drawings with strong attention to detail.
- Maintain good safety judgment and practices.
- Practice good housekeeping in the fabrication shop, yard, and warehouses, including proper storage and placement of finished products.
- Maintain welding equipment covering all facets of MIG & Stick welding (tip liner, changes).
Competencies:
- Ability to layout fittings and create templates of various angles.
- Work with various metal thicknesses—from 18G to 8G (corrugated metal), as well as structural and plate steel.
- Proficiency in both MIG and Stick welding.
- Familiarity with cutting tools such as bandsaws, shears, plasma torches, and air tools.
- Perform multi-angle welding (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
- Possess or obtain a valid forklift operator’s license.
- Strong analytical reasoning and eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to learn SEC product lines and quality standards.
