Job summary

TalentBridge is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a small, established metal fabrication shop in Charlotte, NC. You will take projects from blueprint to finished product, welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and fabricating frames, brackets, and fixtures.

Ideal candidates read drawings, determine the best fabrication approach, and work with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualifications

3+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
Proficient in MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum.
Able to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.
Familiar with measuring tools and tolerances.
Capable of working independently and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum across various material thicknesses.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fabricate parts and assemblies to specification.
Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components using appropriate fabrication methods.
Operate saws, plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment to prepare and finish materials.
Fabricate custom frames, brackets, jigs, fixtures, and one-off components.
Inspect completed work for weld quality, dimensional accuracy, fit, and finish.
Identify and resolve fabrication challenges, working with other shop personnel when necessary.
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area.
Support a variety of shop activities as needed, including basic machining and metal forming.
