Job summary

Fire Training Structures LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team. You will weld and fabricate storage containers and related structures in the shop and on site, following blueprints and fabrication instructions.

Responsibilities include operating welding tools, inspecting welds, and ensuring safety and quality standards. Must pass AWS 3G/4G tests and lift up to 50 lbs; onsite work year-round with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience MIG welding (GMAW).
• Able to pass AWS 3G and 4G weld tests.
• Knowledge of basic shop equipment (ironworker, brake, grinder, drill press).
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work both in shop and on job sites, including outdoors in summer.

• Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, work orders, and fabrication instructions.
• Operate welding equipment, fabrication tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Repair structural damage, install modifications, and complete custom fabrication projects as assigned.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and structural integrity.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards and AWS tests are passed.
• Maintain clean and organized fabrication areas.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA standards.
• Coordinate with shop personnel and management on fabrication priorities.
• Assist with inventory usage and equipment maintenance.
• Report equipment concerns and shortages to management.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Fire Training Structures has been a leading-edge manufacturer of quality fire training simulators both domestically and internationally. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced Welder to join our dedicated FTS team. You will be responsible for welding and fabricating storage containers and other structures in our shop and on job sites. Requirements:

• Prior experience with MIG (GMAW) welding.
• Ability to pass AWS 3G and 4G weld tests.
• Knowledge and experience with basic shop equipment (ironworker, brake, grinder, drill press, etc.).
• Clean record and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work both in the shop and at job sites, including outdoor work during the summer months.
