Hyspeco, Inc. is seeking a Welder to lay out and fabricate metal weldments and assemblies. The role requires reading drawings, complying with WPS, and using MIG/TIG/stick welding with a safe, efficient approach.

Candidates should have welding/fabrication experience, own their tools, and be able to inspect their own work with basic math and measurement equipment. The position involves rigging, lifting up to 75lbs, and coordinating with shop management.

Qualifications

  • Welding/fabrication/layout experience.
  • Must own tools appropriate to the job being performed.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and equipment related to the task (plasma, oxy-fuel, saws, mag drills, drill press, etc).
  • Fabrication skills include complicated layouts, check & straightening capabilities.
  • Prefer AWS Certified Welder in Steel, Stainless, Aluminum and qualified in all positions
  • Should be able to use measurement equipment to inspect their own work.
  • Must be able to rig and move heavy structures.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Operate Fork Lift and Overhead Crane
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
  • Pass weld test

Job description

The Welder lays out and fabricates metal weldments and assemblies. He executes the requirements of the work orders and processes material accordingly. He must be familiar with welding, fitting, and other structural fabrication processes. He will use drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals. Based on instructions/information given, he will make fabricated products using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment, as well as working with other departments. He should have the ability to check his own work. He must meet deadlines and document progress. He must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision. He must work closely with the shop management.

The Welder’s responsibilities will include the following:
