Job summary

RealTruck, Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Welder to perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel parts and accessories for semis and off-road vehicles.

The role includes setting up components per specifications, cutting aluminum, and inspecting weld quality. Qualified candidates will have at least one year of TIG welding experience or recent certification, with the ability to weld across multiple gauges.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of TIG welding experience or a recent certification from a manufacturing or technical program.
• Ability to TIG weld multiple gauges of stainless steel as needed.
• Experience reading specifications, drawings, and welding symbols.

We are currently hiring a Welder in our Lafayette, IN facility. Job tasks include TIG welding made to order stainless steel parts and accessories for semis, grinding and finishing work, and training on the laser welder. Must have the ability to TIG weld multiple different gauges of stainless steel.

Position Summary

• Perform TIG welding on products.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications, work orders and/or prints.
• Cut aluminum to specification.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Must be able to work from specifications, drawings, and welding symbols.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year of TIG Welding experience; or recent certification from a manufacturing or technical program.

Core Functions

• Perform MIG & TIG welding on products.
• Perform cosmetic welding on products.
• Must be able to meet daily productivity and output goals (production outputs are measured hourly/daily).
• Set up components for welding according to specifications, work orders and/or prints.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical/ horizontal).
• Repair product and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Cut aluminum to specifications.
