Job summary

L&N Metal Works in Gillett, WI is hiring for a full-time, on-site Welder/Fabricator. You will read blueprints, fit and weld components, and use precision tools to ensure accuracy as you build metal structures. The role requires MIG and TIG welding experience and offers a safety-focused, team-driven shop environment.

Shift is Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM with overtime as needed. Competitive starting pay of $25.00–$30.00 per hour, with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance;

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and dimensions and build projects accurately.
• Use precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy in fabrication (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Perform MIG and TIG welding; laser or robotic welding is a plus.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and collaborate with teammates to meet deadlines.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and dimensions and build projects accurately.
• Fit, tack, and complete weldment from start to finish.
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy in fabrication.

• Perform MIG, TIG, laser, and robotic welding
• Cut, grind, sand, polish, and finish metal parts
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy
• Take pride in doing clean, quality work
• Work closely with teammates to meet deadlines
• Help problem-solve and adapt when projects change

• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the fabrication shop, always ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and execute fabrication tasks efficiently.

• 2+ years of welding experience
• 2+ years of fabrication and layout experience
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
• Experience with MIG welding (steel)
• TIG welding (stainless steel and aluminum)
• Laser or robotic welding experience a plus
• Good math skills and attention to detail
• Forklift and overhead crane experience
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Reliable attendance and a solid work history
• Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills, and mechanical principles related to fabrication tasks.
• Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and perform sheet metal fabrication tasks safely.
• Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and structural components.
• Experience interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately for fabrication purposes.
