Job summary

Whitewater - Summerset in Whitewater, WI is seeking a Welder Fabricator to build products to exact drawing specs for barges and marine structures. You will weld aluminum, fabricate components, read blueprints, and work in shop and field environments to ensure durable, high-quality assemblies.

The role requires 1–3 years of welding experience (aluminum preferred), proficiency with MIG/TIG processes, and the ability to handle physical outdoor work while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of welding experience, with a strong preference for aluminum welding.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with marine equipment, barges, or structural fabrication is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform aluminum welding and fabrication on barges, marine equipment, and structural components, ensuring strength and durability.

• Cut and prepare raw materials to specified dimensions.
• Repair and reinforce barge and pier components, including decking and structural supports.
• Read and follow blueprints and production drawings accurately.
• Work in both shop and field environments, including outdoor marine settings.
• Follow production schedules and complete tasks on time.
• Track hours and maintain quality standards by inspecting completed work.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the role
