Job summary

Zenith Tech Inc. in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a Shop Welder/Fabricator to weld and assemble metal components on heavy equipment projects in our fabrication shop. Join a family-focused, safety-driven culture with opportunities for skill growth and professional development.

You will work Monday–Friday, 6am–3pm, with overtime possible on Saturdays. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and some welding experience with heavy equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Able to work in variable weather and dusty environments.
  • Some welding experience on heavy equipment.
  • G1 or 1.5 certification preferred or company-paid training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Access areas to be welded by climbing a ladder if needed.
  • Use a disc grinder to smooth, weld, or grind parts before welding appears.
  • Operate manual and automated welding units, depositing metal and joining edges.
  • Maintain arc length and movement speed to achieve specified fusion depth.
  • Weld in flat and vertical positions (all-position welding).
  • Inspect welds for bead size and specifications.
  • Fabricate new or replacement parts with hand and small power tools.
  • Perform other general labor duties as required.

The Position:

We're looking for a Welder/Fabricator responsible for welding and assembling metal components on heavy equipment projects and perform other general labor duties.

The Hours:
  • Monday-Friday 6am-3pm, with possible overtime and some Saturdays.
The Candidate:
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
  • Some welding experience on heavy equipment.
  • Certified G1 or 1.5 preferred, or the ability to obtain certifications paid for by company within 6 months.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Access areas to be welded by climbing ladder if needed.
  • Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
  • Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
  • Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).
  • Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Fabricate new or replacement parts using hand and small power tools.
  • Perform other general labor duties as required and assigned.
