Job Summary:
Industrial Welders in a fabrication shop are responsible for joining metal components using various welding techniques. They are essential in the manufacturing process, creating a wide range of metal products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use various welding techniques to join metal components.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment.
- Perform housekeeping in the work area as needed.
- Wear safety glasses and hearing protection at all times.
- Follow written and oral instructions accurately.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Welding certification required.
Experience:
- Experience with GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW in 3G Vertical positions.
- Experience working with carbon and stainless steel.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work accurately and precisely.
- Adherence to safety procedures and regulations.

Work Environment:
- Work is in an industrial shop environment, which is non-climate controlled and often hot/humid.
- Frequent exposure to moving equipment, machinery, shop tools, and safety hazards.
- Must be alert and perform duties safely to prevent harm.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicate effectively through speech and hearing.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Walk frequently within the shop and outdoor areas.
- Handle and manipulate materials with hands and arms, requiring steady control and quick movements.
- Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Visual abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
- Work outdoors and indoors in loud, dusty, hot, or cold environments.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
