Job summary

Ambitions Personnel is recruiting on behalf of an established steel fabrication and engineering company in Newark for a Welder/Fabricator. This hands-on role focuses on producing high-quality steel components to customer specifications.

You will weld, fabricate, and assemble parts, reading drawings to ensure accuracy and adhering to health and safety standards in a busy workshop environment. A collaborative team is supported by a strong, skilled workforce.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate steel components using MIG welding.
• Fabricate and assemble parts to specifications.
• Read and follow engineering drawings and specs.
• Measure, cut, fit, and prepare materials for welding.
• Ensure high quality workmanship and finishes.
• Perform visual checks on welds and fabrications.
• Operate workshop machinery safely and maintain a clean workspace.
• Collaborate with the team in a busy fabrication environment.

Monday to Thursday 7:30am until 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am until 12:30pm

Are you a skilled Welder / Fabricator looking for your next opportunity with an established engineering business in Newark?

We’re currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established steel fabrication and engineering company, who are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their busy workshop team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a hands-on role and wants to become part of a skilled and friendly team.

The Role

As a Welder / Fabricator, you’ll be working on a variety of steel fabrication projects, producing high-quality components and finished products to customer specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• MIG welding steel fabrications.
• Fabricating and assembling components.
• Working from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Measuring, cutting, fitting and preparing materials.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
• Carrying out visual checks of completed welds and fabrications.
• Using workshop machinery and equipment safely.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Working as part of a busy and supportive fabrication team.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and passionate about producing quality work.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous welding and fabrication experience.
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to quality and health & safety.
• A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.

Time-served Welders/Fabricators are encouraged to apply.

TIG welding experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
