Job summary

Wedgworth’s Inc. is seeking an experienced Welder to support facility maintenance, equipment repair, and operational improvements in Moore Haven, Florida.

The role focuses on producing high-quality welds while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements, and requires reading drawings, fabricating components, and maintaining tools. The Welder will perform MIG and stick welding, repair and fabricate metal structures, and operate shop equipment in an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a welding qualification test/exam.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication practices, and metal properties.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Must provide and maintain personal welding tools.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks to support plant operations, equipment repair, and facility maintenance.

• Ensure all welding work meets company quality standards and safety expectations.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, strength, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hot work protocols.
• Assist with general maintenance or fabrication support tasks as assigned.

The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work in support of facility maintenance, equipment repair, and operational improvements. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment by fabricating, repairing, and modifying metal components used throughout company operations.

The Welder is expected to produce consistent, high-quality welds while adhering to company safety standards, maintenance procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in an industrial environment with varying conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks to support plant operations, equipment repair, and facility maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial and outdoor environment.

Employees must be able to:

• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Perform repetitive bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
• Work in hot, cold, dusty, humid, and non-climate-controlled environments.
• Work at ground level, elevated areas, and in confined or awkward positions as needed.
• Safely operate welding and cutting equipment while wearing required PPE.
• Wear respirators and other protective equipment in accordance with OSHA requirements, including medical evaluation and fit testing protocols.
• Work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, or extended hours as operational needs require.
