Key Responsibilities And Expectations

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to create high-quality products according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan fabrication and welding tasks.
  • Repair rotating equipment shafting using various welding processes.
  • Perform various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on different materials like steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Braze copper and brass with various wall thicknesses.
  • Balance rotating elements (rotors, fans, impellers, ect.) using balance equipment.
  • Operate fabrication tools, including saws, grinders, and shears, to shape and prepare materials.
  • Assemble metal components and structures using manual tools and welding equipment.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Follow all workplace safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members, including engineers and other fabricators, to ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. Certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and materials.
  • Strong basic mathematic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Skilled in using hand tools and welding/fabrication machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials and work in various positions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 60 lbs.
  • Must have vision that allows for welding process to not be hindered or restricted.
