Job summary

TEC Industrial is seeking a Welder Fabricator to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structures such as machinery frames, tanks, and vessels. Candidates must read blueprints and apply welding knowledge across MIG, TIG, and Stick processes, with safety compliance a priority.

Responsibilities include setting up welding machines, performing layout, and ensuring output meets quality specs.

Qualifications

• Certified Welder with MIG/TIG/Stick experience.
• Experience welding stainless steel is listed in the ad.
• Ability to bolt, clamp, tack-weld and assemble parts for welding.

Description

As a welder fabricator you will be responsible for lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts, according to blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy. Select equipment and perform layout, assembly and welding applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.

Qualifications:

• Certified Welder, (MIG, TIG, Stick) some welding performed wearing SCBA respirator.
• Experience welding stainless steel.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• May assemble parts by bolting and riveting. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools, and be designated Welder, Structural Repair (welding).
• Must be able to pass Client welding certification for carbon, stainless, hastalloy and titanium
• Experience in an industrial chemical environment strongly preferred.
• Set and adjust welding machine according to materials used.
• Identify and resolve hazards associated with assignments.
• Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
• Must be able to perform basic rigging practices, provide certification, pass client or company welding certification, as well as flagging practices based on OSHA 1926.1428.
• Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and follow Company and site safety policies.

Additional Functions:

• Monitor and maintain building systems as assigned
• Execute various minor construction projects as required
• Maintain equipment & clean around workstations.
• Interface with supervisor &/or manager to give progress updates as required
• Able to work outdoors in the elements
• Work in tight spaces - physically able to climb up and down safely in proximity of manufacturing and process equipment.
• Elevated work > 4' - fall protection required

Requirements:

• Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift
• Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site
• Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor
