Job summary

McCabe’s Mechanical is a custom stainless steel equipment manufacturer serving the food industry. We seek an experienced welder with at least one year of stainless-steel welding and fabrication experience to work from engineered drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities include welding, grinding, finishing, and assembling parts using TIG and MIG processes, while maintaining tight tolerances. Welding tests will be administered; typical hours are Tues-Sat, 6am-2:30pm, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in welding and fabrication of stainless-steel parts and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to produce vacuum-tight welds and meet tolerances as per drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG/MIG welding and fabrication of stainless-steel equipment and parts.
  • Set up and calibrate TIG and MIG welders with the correct welding program.
  • Meet project requirements through fabrication including alignment, scribing, cutting, finishing, and welding.
  • Assemble equipment using engineered drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Welding tests will be required.

Summary

McCabe’s Mechanical is a custom stainless steel equipment manufacturing company serving the food industry. We are seeking an experienced individual with at least one year of experience in welding and fabrication of stainless-steel parts and equipment.

Compensation: DOE – Competitive

Employment Type: Full-Time

Function & Responsibility

Perform TIG/MIG welding and fabrication of custom stainless-steel equipment and parts using supplied engineered drawings and/or blueprints while holding tolerances.

  • Perform welding, grinding, and finishing of tubing, sheet, and pipe to meet expectations.
  • Set up and calibrate TIG and MIG welders with the correct welding program.
  • Be able to meet or exceed the requirement of the project through manual fabrication such as alignment, scribing, cutting/coping, grinding, polishing, tacking, and welding while maintaining established tolerances.
  • Must be able to produce vacuum tight welds in hard-to-reach areas of chambers.
  • Ability and understanding of how to identify the proper order of fabrication and welding operations.
  • Assemble equipment and manufactured parts using engineered drawings.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and engineered drawings.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
  • Ability to work with team members and provide leadership to lower-level welders.
  • Have knowledge and be comfortable with the use of hand tools such as saws, grinders, and drills.
  • Must be familiar with the effects of welding, grinding, and polishing on stainless steel.
  • Must have solid knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
  • Ability to take direction from supervisors.
  • Ability to meet or exceed job schedule timelines.
  • Must pay close attention to details while fabricating, welding, and reading engineered drawings.
  • Safely operate and use forklifts.
  • Understand and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work rules.

Welding test(s) will be required. Work schedule is Tues-Sat, 6am-2:30pm. May require overtime as needed when shop is busy.
