MWG is looking to add a Welder Fabricator to our Fairfield Team!

Job Summary:

The Welder Fabricator position involves production welding and quality responsibilities. Duties include analyzing blueprints, performing welding jobs, maintaining production standards, and producing consistently accurate work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs production welding following The Metalworking Group's standardized work processes and quality procedures.
2. Conducts visual quality checks and takes corrective actions for defects.
3. Performs complex dimensional layouts for product completion without fixtures.
4. Works under minimal supervision and guidance.
5. Prepares materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
6. Produces work daily that is consistently accurate.
7. Provides feedback to the supervisor regarding issues with the welding process.
8. Must generate quality welds.

Physical Demands:

While performing this job, the employee must frequently stand, sit, twist, and use hands, fingers, and wrists to operate controls. Occasional walking, stooping, pulling objects, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching, and lifting items weighing 35 to 75 lbs are required. Gross and fine motor skills are necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ability to set up weld machines for different materials.
2. Capability to TIG weld aluminum.
3. Capability to GMAW weld all types of materials.
4. Ability to perform flux core horizontal and vertical welding.
5. Ability to perform dimensional calculations.
6. Proficiency with measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, protractors, and laser levels.
7. Must create quality welds, identify poor welds (porosity, undercut, etc.), and know how to repair them.
8. Ability to identify and resolve root causes of weld issues.
9. Assist in fixture design for specific products.
10. Troubleshoot and recommend solutions for fit-up issues.
11. Ability to grind welds and blend corners.
12. Perform complex layouts with guidance.
