Job description

Day to day in-house fabrication of custom vehicular gates, custom fencing, pedestrian gates, and custom metal projects that include custom design fireplace screens, target carts, and assisting with drill tooling repairs. You need to be creative, and willing to work with steel, aluminum, and wood materials.

Compensation: Starting base pay is $22/hour or more based on experience and skillset.

Responsibilities:

  1. Read, interpret, and build from engineered drawings as assigned by the Technical Director.
  2. Interpret and build from sketches, photos, video, or other media as assigned by the Technical Director.
  3. Lay out steel construction efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy prior to welding.
  4. Measure, cut, bend, and punch aluminum and steel components for construction.
  5. Perform steel cleaning, preparation, storage, and post-welding cleanup in preparation for painting all finished products.
  6. Operate equipment including MIG welder, TIG welder, spool gun, drill press, horizontal band saw, portable band saw, abrasive saw, cold miter saw, angle grinders, pneumatic roller bender, pneumatic 55 ton iron worker, tap & die, and plasma cutter.
  7. Assist in the mounting and installation of gates, pedestrian gates, custom fencing, rails, and all custom produced products.
  8. Willingness to transfer to carpentry shop to produce custom wood and steel gates, fence panels, and some general woodwork.
  9. Work in a safe, efficient, and organized manner.
  10. Willingness to learn how to install gate operator systems.
  11. Provide feedback to the technical director/engineer on design specifications and production.

Expected Working Hours and Benefits:

Expected working hours: 40-45 hours per week, rarely exceeding more than 45 hours per week. There is performance pay and bonuses on top of the base pay. All required equipment will be provided to you, and you will be expected to perform a series of coupon tests during the interview. It will be expected that you bring your own welding helmet and PPE for your interview.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience in carpentry/metal-working.
  2. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical background in construction or production.
  3. Must be able to safely operate a MIG welder, TIG welder, and stick welder.
  4. Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
  5. Attention to detail.
  6. Technical welding certification.
  7. Mechanical background is a plus.

Compensation: $22 - $28 hourly.
